Sister Imogene (Jean) Davis (#10) passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008. Her funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday, June 5 at South Park Cemetery in Roswell. Sister Jean was a Past Matron of Roswell #10 and the mother-in-law of Sister Debbie Davis, Associate Grand Conductress.

Brother Carrol George (#63) had successful knee replacement surgery today. He is doing well. Sister Virgie George, Worthy Grand Martha (#63) continues to improve after her knee replacement surgery and is now able to care for Carrol.

Sister Jan Ross (#9) has had surgery for a brain tumor on Friday, May 23, 2008. The doctors found that the tumor was not attached to the brain, and it was malignant, but they feel that they got it all.
Karen Robertson reported that she talked to Jan about 2:45 p.m. (Saturday). "She had hoped to talk to someone in her room, but was pleasantly surprised it was Jan!! She sounded really good - was still in ICU at UNM Hospital and they hoped to get her in a room this evening. She will probably be there several more days."
Jan Ross said someone will take care of her grandson, Quin (Cindy’s son) (her son Daryl has him and he has lots of family and friends who care for him - his last day of school was Thursday) They told her not to worry at all. She just said, "I have two kids here and two in heaven, so I'll be OK."

Sister Catherine Beckett (6) fell at a mall in Springerville, AZ and suffered a broken femur. After surgery and a short period in rehabilitation she is now at home with her daughter in Tularosa.

Sister Bea Mountain (45) passed away this morning. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church in Los Chavez, NM. The church is located just off of highway 314, about 6 miles north of Belen and 4 miles south of Los Lunas, on the west side of the highway. Jessamine #45 members will do the Eastern Star service. Bea was a member of Eastern Star sixty years, initiated into Springer #42, was Worthy Matron of Victory #40 (Magdalena) and Grand Organist in 1984-85. She is currently a member of Jessamine #45 (Belen - our organist for over 50 years) and Magdalen #9 (Socorro and their organist for several years) We have missed her music for almost two years while she was in a nursing home in Belen. Nancy Huning (#45), Bea Mountain’s daughter, had a knee replacement on Feb 28th and still isn’t getting around too well.

PGM Blanche Laswell's granddaughter passed away on March 4th. She and Bill are devastated about their granddaughter Lisa's death. The memorial is set up for Friday, March 7, at 11:00 am at Calvary Chapel on Osuna. This is just east of Temple Lodge # 6 The family will return to Blanche and Bill's afterwards. A reception will be held on Saturday from 10-3 at the home of Francis Fletcher (Lisa's other grandmother) at 325 Chula Vista NE.

Richard Finch, son of Julianne Jones Sherman, Grand Martha, passed away on January 26, 2008 in Portland, OR of a heart attack. He was born on Dec. 26, 1953 in Santa Fe. Cards may be sent to Sister Julianne at 2248 Espejo Place, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
