Sister Bonnie and husband Paul have been married for 35 years, they have six children, eighteen grandchildren, and eight 1/2 great grandchildren. She was in the banking business for many years where she worked as a Teller, Loan Secretary, Assistant to the President and Corporate Secretary. Sister Bonnie retired in 1996 as Business Manager/Controller of a Clear Channel Radio Station and now works part time as an accountant in their roofing company. Sister Bonnie joined the Order of the Eastern Star in 1978; however, she was in her Grandmother’s Installation in 1949 and attended lots of Ice Cream Socials and functions with her. Her Grandmother, two Aunts and Mother were all members of Rose Croix #701, the Chapter she was initiated into, and one of their daughters is a member of Ysleta #991. When her Grandmother passed away, she left her the Eastern Star Ring that she wears today. Sister Bonnie has held almost all of the Offices in the subordinate chapter, served as Worthy Matron five times and as Secretary twelve times. She has served New Mexico Grand Chapter as Assistant Grand Marshal, on the Credentials Committee, on the Registration Committee, Grand Ruth, Grand Representative of Tennessee and Oklahoma, and will be serving as District Instructor for District nine this year. She is a past President of PAGO. Being a member of Eastern Star has been a very rewarding experience for her because of all the wonderful friends she has made. She taught 3rd Grade Sunday School for over ten years and has helped with Vacation Bible School since she was a young girl. Sister Bonnie is a Life Member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, having served as President of the City Council of Beta Sigma Phi twice, she is a member of the Advisory Board and a member of Gamma Master Chapter. She is a former member of the Five Points Lions Club and a Past President of “Viva El Paso!” Sister Bonnie enjoys making craft items in her spare time.
